Prayer For Those With Eating Disorder
In this short intercessory prayer for mental illness, lets pray for those who are suffering from eating disorders. If you know anyone around that needs this prayer, pray for them.
Heavenly Father, I pray for your loving hands to be upon those that is burdened by eating disorders. I ask that You give them faith in their road to recovery to full health. Bless them with people who can support them and encourage them whenever they need it. Remind them daily that their bodies are not insignificant but are precious to You. You do not look at their outward appearance of them but at their hearts. So, God, grant them the compassion to set their hearts right with You and love their bodies as You love them. Amen.

Loved One Suffering From Depression
O Lord, the Lifter of our heads, please reach out Your healing hand to my loved one suffering from depression. Give her the resolve to get out of bed and get physically active outdoors in the sunshine, so her spirits are lifted. When she wants to withdraw into herself, give her the strength to seek out friends and family, and engage socially. Help her take the steps she needs to take and get the help she needs to overcome the symptoms of this disease. Amen.
Suffering From Mental Illness
Lord of goodness and grace, we pray for Your special touch on all of those people everywhere who are suffering from mental illness. Help them to not despair, but to trust in Your mighty healing hand. Help them find good doctors and therapists who will give them proper treatment. Help them to find medication that relieves their symptoms without adverse side effects and help them remain on their counseling and medication regime. Amen.

A Prayer For Mental Health
This mental health prayer acknowledges that we all have our weaknesses, but also seeks out the Lord as the strength we need to overcome any challenge given to us.
Heavenly Father, I come to You today seeking guidance. I strive to be your strongest soldier, but I cannot do so without acknowledging my own weaknesses first. Lord, help me to overcome these battles my mind has challenged me with. I know You are always with me, and any hurdles I face can be conquered with Your grace. My mental health is not at its best, but I know this suffering is not permanent. This too shall pass, and I pray that You will continue to watch over me as I fight my own personal demons. Amen.

This evening I was asked to pray the Invocation for the 23rd Candlelight Service for the Mentally Ill. Here was my prayer:
Eternal God, giver of life we gather here this evening to pray for our community, for each other and especially those who suffer with a diagnosis of mental illness.
Among us this evening are those who live with mental illness, we pray for your healing mercies to touch them, strengthen them, love them.
Some among us suffer from the diseases of addictions that hold them captive, we pray for their healing.
We commend to your mercy and defense all who are contemplating suicide today, right now. Bring someone or something to intervene.
For the families who have lost a loved one to mental illness, bring them comfort in trusting that your grace accepts their ill loved one, despite the final desperate act that brought them into your loving arms.
Empower us to speak up for those who do not have a voice save us from making peace with the injustices in the social systems that have failed them.
Guide those who do research for the prevention and treatment of mental illnesses uphold them with your compassion and diligence.
For those who are in recovery and for treatments that enable them to return to full and rewarding lives, we give you thanks.
For those who work daily to bring healing, comfort and justice for those who live with mental illness we give thanks and pray they may have the strength to carry on their work.

Reliable God, please bring peace to my mind, heart, and soul. Give me a sound mind, especially in these challenging times.

A persons pain will be difficult to truly understand if we havent lived through their pain ourselves. But, we can pray to God for guidance on how we can move forward in our own way for the sake of the ones we love.
Dear Lord, I come to you filled with humility. Please hear my plea to become a good support system for my loved ones. In their moments of weakness, help me be strong for them. I may never understand their plight, but I can be there for them as a fellow servant of Christ. Help me reconcile with my arrogance, as the only true savior in life is You, oh Lord. While I can give them words of encouragement, my efforts will ultimately lead those around me to You. You are the true guidance that we all need to face the world, and may we never forget that, even in times of weakness. Amen.

Join Us As Part Of Mental Illness Awareness Week
In the pain and isolation that often accompany physical and mental illness, we come to the Anointing of the Sick to pray together for healing.
But, what is healing?While healing can include miraculous cures, the Anointing of the Sick invites us to experience healing as a movement, by grace, from isolation and disconnection toward deepening communion with Christ and one another, offering renewed Hope.
Pope Francis shares, In times of pain and illness it is always good to know that we are not alone it is the Lord Jesus himself who makes himself present in the Sacrament, who takes us by the hand, who caresses us as he did with the sick, and who reminds us that we already belong to him and that nothing not even evil and death can ever separate us from him.
All students are invited to the Anointing of the Sick when well pray together for the healing of physical, mental, and spiritual wounds.
The liturgy will include a brief explanation of the sacrament and prayer service, followed by the anointing for those receiving the sacrament.
